Change, stop or restart contributions

Change member contributions

You may be able to alter your member contributions depending on your current contribution rate and which section(s) of the Plan you have chosen to participate in. For example, if you are a member of the main section of the Plan only, you can increase but not decrease your member contribution rate. Talk to you manager if you’re not sure of your current contribution rate.

Use the Alter contributions form (download one here) to:

  • change your member contribution rate
  • switch some or all of your contributions from the main section of the Plan to the CSF section
  • change any additional voluntary contributions you make to the Plan.

Stop member contributions

If you are a member of the main section of the Plan, you may be able to stop contributing while you are on parental leave, sick leave (without pay) or special leave or for some other reason. Talk to Payroll to see if this is an option for you.

If you are suffering financial hardship directly as a result of COVID-19, you may be able to suspend your contributions and continue to receive employer contributions for three months.

Once you have been a member of the CSF section for 1 year, you have the option of suspending contributions for up to 1 year.

To stop member contributions, use the Suspend/restart contributions form - download one here. You can also use this form to restart contributions when you return from leave.
